The School of Data Science Presents: Datapalooza 2021 Learning in Action

Datapalooza is an annual conference hosted by the University of Virginia’s School of Data Science that brings together more than 500 attendees from across higher education, industry, and the greater data science community. This year's theme "Learning In Action," is inspired by the interdisciplinary values of data science with the intention to share knowledge and build community.

Keynote address by Ruha Benjamin, professor of African American Studies at Princeton, founding director of the Ida B. Wells Just Data Lab and Author.

McCormick Observatory Public Night

Welcome back to the Leander McCormick Observatory!

Visitors can view celestial objects through the historic 26-inch McCormick Refractor and other smaller telescopes (weather permitting), tour the Observatory, hear a presentation by an astronomer, and see the exhibits. All faculty, postdocs and graduate students participate through a rotating schedule.

Come get creative with Second Street Gallery! Join for a free Family Studio Day, where families can play and create art in the gallery!

Join in the gallery and make your own art inspired by some of the works on view in our current exhibitions. Visitors will have access to free art materials, prompts, and worksheets to play with during their time in the gallery. This studio day is open to families with kids of all ages.
