Lighting of the Lawn 2019

Thursday, December 5, 2019 - 7:00pm

il·lu·mi·nate /iˈlo͞oməˌnāt/ (verb): to supply or brighten with light; to bring clarity. For Lighting of the Lawn 2019, that is the goal for the UVA and greater Charlottesville community. Lighting of the Lawn was created in the wake of the attacks on September 11th 18 years ago in order to bring the Charlottesville community together. Today, Lighting of the Lawn still does this including over 15,000 attendees each year from the Charlottesville and UVA Community, Also known as LOTL, Lighting of the Lawn acts as both a reflective and celebrate event and an opportunity to merge the Charlottesville and UVA communities.

The event will be held December 5th at 7 PM with entertainment from several a capella and other student groups. Light show begins at 9 PM. This event is free and open to the public.
